Bulldogs hang on to beat Dalhart, earn at least a share of the district crown

On Tuesday evening the Big Red Machine continued to roll at the plate, as the Borger Bulldogs had three players, Max Lusk, Garrett Irwin and Kody Davila, send balls over the fence in their District 1-3A contest with the Dalhart Golden Wolves.
The Bulldogs jumped out on top early building a 5-0 lead after two innings. But the team experienced a little bit of a scare as Dalhart battled back to eventually take a 8-9 lead by the sixth inning.
The good news is the Bulldogs were able to regroup in the final two innings to score two runs to get the 10-9 win and earn at least a share of the District 1-3A title, thanks to Pampa’s 4-3 win over Perryton on Wednesday night.
With two games to go in district play, the Bulldogs need to just win one of those to earn the district title outright.
The Bulldogs improve to 15-10-1 overall, 6-1 in district play and will next travel to Perryton to take on the Rangers on Saturday, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
