On Monday and Tuesday, the Borger Bulldogs Boys Golf Teams' quest for a trip to the state tournament came up short with the Borger A team finishing in seventh place, with a 671, and the Borger B team in 15th place, with a 754, at the 3A Region I Golf Tournament at the Bentwood Country Club in San Angelo.
Dylan Coffer led all Borger golfers by shooting a 85-77-162.
Andrews won the boys team title by shooting a 640 followed by second place Big Spring with a 648. The two teams advance to the 3A State Golf Tournament.
On his team's performance at regionals, Borger Boys Golf Coach Clinton Grange said, βWe had a very bad first round and played really good the second round. There was just to much deficit from the first round and we could recover. I was proud of the boys and am looking forward to next season. With four of the five varsity players returning, we will have a more experienced team and for see us having a great season.β
