Over Thanksgiving weekend, the Borger Bulldogs competed in the Pampa Lions’ Club Tournament that drew eight competitive teams from as far as El Paso and Lawton, Okla.
The Bulldogs battled hard throughout the tournament, but came up short in their three games against Lawton, Dumas, and Amarillo San Jacinto to drop to 1-4 for the 2011-12 season.

In their tournament opener, the Bulldogs took on a solid Lawton who opened the game building a 34-18 lead.
The Bulldogs put together a good four period scoring 17 points, but it wasn’t enough to get a comeback win.
Borger junior Jamon Hearon led the Bulldogs in scoring with a 11 points, followed by senior Tyrell Haynes with 10 point.

Unfortunately, a cold second period by the Bulldogs allowed the Patriots to go on an 18-3 run in the second period, giving San Jacinto the cushion they needed the remainder of the game to get the win.
