For the past two weeks a lot has been said about the battle between the Borger Bulldogs and Canyon Eagles for the fourth and final playoff spot from District 5-4A.
However over the past week, the Dumas Demons have decided to make the race a three team battle, thanks to defeating Canyon on Saturday, leading to a three-way tie for the fourth spot with each team currently holding 3.5 points in the district standings.
Thanks to Canyon’s 1-0 loss to Amarillo Palo Duro last night, the Bulldogs can control their own destiny by getting a win or tie tonight against the Canyon Randall Raiders tonight at 7:00 p.m. in Kimbrough Stadium in Canyon.
After tonight’s contest, the Bulldogs will wrap up the regular season on Friday in a key battle with the Demons in Dumas at 8 p.m.
For nearly two weeks, the Borger Lady Bulldogs have known they will continue play beyond the regular season, yet the team has continued to play well over the past two games.
Tonight the Lady Bulldogs will be able to get some fine tuning in as they take on the district champion Randall Lady Raiders in Canyon starting at 5:00 p.m.
Details for the Lady Bulldogs first round playoff game are still to be determined
