Bulldogs and Eagles wrap up hoop seasons

Over the past two evenings, the Borger Bulldogs and Sanford-Fritch Eagles wrapped up the 2011-12 boys basketball season.

In Dalhart on Tuesday evening, the Golden Wolves got off to a fast start, outscoring the Borger Bulldogs 18-5 in the first period, on their way to a 57-40 win.
With the win, Dalhart claimed the District 1-3A title outright with a 7-2 district record.
In the second and third periods, the Bulldogs tried to make a comeback by pulling to within six points going into the fourth period. But the Golden Wolves finished the game outscoring the Bulldogs 22-11 in the final period to get the big win.
Junior Jamon Hearon led the Bulldogs with 13 points.
The Bulldogs wrap up the 2011-12 season 10-19 overall, 1-8 in district play.
Sanford-Fritch 67 Amarillo River Road 66
On Monday evening, the Sanford-Fritch Eagles finished District 1-2A play winning three out of their final four games, including a 67-66 win over River Road in the season finale.
Junior Colton Valle hit the go-ahead free throw with two seconds left on the clock.
Hunter Cunningham and Trey Henry led the Eagles by scoring 14 points each.
The Eagles wrap up the season with a 5-20 overall record and a 3-7 district mark.
