Bulldogs and Comanches look to keep playoff hopes alive
Tonight, the Borger Bulldogs (1-4, 10-15 ) and West Texas High Comanches (2-5, 18-10) will try to keep their basketball playoff hopes alive in district action.The Bulldogs travel north to take on the Dalhart Golden Wolves (4-1, 17-9) in District 1-3A action beginning at 7:30 p.m.Going into tonight, the Bulldog sit one game behind the Pampa Harvesters for the third playoff spot in the district race with four games to go.The first meeting between the Bulldogs and Wolves was a good contest until the third period, when Bulldog turnovers helped the Wolves pull away in the second half for the big win.The Borger Lady Bulldogs (0-7, 4-21) are also playing in Dalhart tonight taking on the Lady Wolves 4-1, 17-9) at 6:00 p.m.Despite a rough start to District 1-1A play, the West Texas High Comanches (2-5, 18-10) enter tonight with a chance to put themselves back in the race for one of the district’s playoff spots with three district games left. Entering tonight, the Comanches sit two games behind Stratford and Gruver, who are tied for second place with 4-3 district records. But in order to keep their playoff hopes alive, the Comanches will need to take care of business in Stinnett tonight against district leading Canadian ( 5-2, 16-8). If the Comanches can take care of business tonight, it could set up for some drama in the final week of district play with the team finishing district with road games against Stratford and Gruver.Tip off between the Canadian Wildcats and West Texas High Comanches is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. in Stinnett.The West Texas High Lady Comanches (0-8, 7-22 ) will take to the court in Stinnett for the final time this season hosting the Canadian Lady Wildcats (7-1, 23-6 ) at 6:00 p.m.The Sanford-Fritch Eagles (1-5, 3-18) and Lady Eagles (6-2, 18-10) travel to Bushland tonight for a District 1-2A doubleheader.The Lady Eagles have already locked up a playoff berth but hope finish district play strong in their final two regular season games. The Lady Eagles and the Bushland Lady Falcons (3-5, 15-13) tip off at 6:00 p.m.The Eagles will try to get their second district win in a row when they face the Bushland Falcons (5-1, 15-9) beginning at 7:30 p.m.
