Building at 11th & Jim Hall catches fire

November 30, 2012

A local building that housed an illegally operated establishment shut down by law enforcement last month burst into flames on Thursday morning.
Da Cutts at 11th and Jim Hall, which was recently shut down in late October by law enforcement officials for several violations of sales of alcohol without a license, was reported to be on fire at 6 a.m. Thursday.
According to Borger Fire Marshal Jerry Langwell, the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but there are some indications the fire may have been intentionally set.
“The fire caused a significant amount of damage to the structure and extended partially into the attic,” said Langwell.
The fire was extinguished at 8:20 a.m. by Borger Fire Department.
There were no injuries reported.
The Borger Fire and Police Departments ask if any one knows any further information on this fire to call 273-0950 or 273-0930.
