Bike MS, where pedaling for a cure is made possible, is only two weekends away.
Texas Panhandle residents, including some Borger teams, are preparing for the 25th Anniversary Bike MS: The Wild West Ride 2012.
On July 28 and 29, cyclists will get their pedals running for the annual two-day fundraising ride.
The National MS Society Bike MS is a fundraising event that supports research as well as programs and services that impact the daily lives of those living with MS. Multiple sclerosis, an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system, interrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis.
This annual 150-mile ride features a route from Amarillo to Canadian. Registered cyclists commit to raise a minimum of $250 to fund MS education, programs and research.
Registration for Bike MS: The Wild West Ride is $35, and registered volunteers are required to commit to a minimum fundraising pledge of $250. Bike MS is for riders aged 12 years and older at various cycling levels. See bikeMStexas.org to register to ride, form a team, volunteer or make a donation.
