Borger’s upcoming Summer Celebration is just around the corner!
This year’s event, which is being hosted by the Borger Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled to be held from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Thursday, July 14, in Huber Park.
Beverly Benton, CEO of the Chamber, said people attending this year’s event can enjoy live country music by the Prairie Dogs, along with a variety of booths for fun and entertainment.
Some of the booths this year include bouncy houses for the kids, face painting, hand-crafted items of all types, games, various raffles, photo booths, and Scentsy products.
There will also be a variety of food on hand, which includes cotton candy, fried cheese, corn dogs, hot dogs, and ice cream.
People who would like to have a booth at the event are still welcome to register. Booths can be registered until Friday, July 8. Anyone who is interested can pick up a registration form along with a list of instructions at the Chamber office at 613 North Main.
“People participating in the event just need to keep in mind that it is a family event and any type of game booths or activities for children are always very successful, as well as food and drink items,” Benton said.
The event, now in its eighth year, has been a successful one for participants and beneficial for many non-profits, she said. Some of area businesses set up a booth and donate all their profits to a non-profit of their choice, so there are great options for anyone who wants to participate.
The Chamber averages about 50 to 60 booths each year, so there is bound to be something for everyone who attends.
“Don’t miss one of Borger’s biggest events of the year!” Benton said.
Those in attendance are also welcome to use the splash pad at Huber Park, along with the playground facilities that are available.
For more information on this year’s Summer Celebration or how to register a booth, call the Chamber office at 274-2211.
