The Borger High School Lady Bulldog Varsity and Junior Varsity softball teams are getting ready for the start of the 2012 season.
For this new season, the softball teams will have a new scoreboard and fence thanks to the support of several local businesses.
The new scoreboard was donated by United Supermarkets and Borger Bank Branch of Amarillo National Bank, and was installed by B&G Electric.
A new green fence was placed around the field from donations provided by Turner Energies, SERCO, M&M Auto Parts, R&R Sheet Metal, Inter Bank, Pantex Federal Credit Union, Crown Supply, Holmes Pharmacy, Rice Construction, and Provenance Consulting.
On the improvements to the softball field, Borger Head Softball Coach Steve Watkins said, “The facilities continue to improve thanks to to the work and commitment of the Borger High School Softball Booster Club. We are very excited to begin the 2012 softball season, after coming off a successful season last year where we were bi-district champs and area qualifiers.” Watkins added, “I would like to welcome everyone to come out to watch and encourage the Borger High School softball teams this season.”
