The Borger PD and the Crime Stoppers program are looking for information to help solve a pair of Valentine’s Day burglaries in Borger, including a break-in at a local church, according to a press release issued by Captain Anthony Griffin of the Borger Police Department.
In the early morning of Friday, February 14, 2014, two suspects attempted to destroy the security cameras at Grace Fellowship Church, said the release. When that apparently failed, the invaders disconnected electricity to the church and forced their way inside, eventually making off with an undisclosed amount of property; but not before the camera captured several images of them.
Police say that a short time later, before 2:00 a.m., the same two suspects from the Grace Fellowship Church burglary broke into D&D Amusement on Florida. The burglars again disabled the electricity but, again, security cameras were able to capture images of the two.
More property was stolen in the second burglary, including at least one firearm, say Borger Police.
Griffin is asking that anyone with information about these burglaries or anyone who can identify the burglars please contact the Borger Police Department at 806-273-0930 or Crime Stoppers at 806-274-6371. Tips can also be submitted using the anonymous Tip411 Program; simply send a text message to 847411 and in the message type “borger” first and then type out your message or tip and send it.
BPD reminds the public that anyone calling in an informational tip to Crime Stoppers has the option to remain anonymous; however, anyone wishing to receive a reward in the event the tip proves useful should leave a working and reliable contact number so that a Crime Stoppers Representative can contact the person at a later date and time.
Crime Stoppers offers rewards ranging from $50.00 up to $1,000.00 for “reliable, relevant” tips and information in about any unsolved investigations and crimes or any type of criminal activity or outstanding fugitives from justice.
