Borger PD makes arrest in robbery case

The Borger Police Department has made an arrest in conjunction with a recent robbery incident.
On Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, the BPD responded to an aggravated robbery that occurred at the intersection of Crockett Street and McGee Street.
The incident began when the victim, a female who was 71 years of age, agreed to give the suspect a ride after he assisted her with loading items she had purchased from a local garage sale into her vehicle.
Once at the intersection of Crockett Street and McGee Street, the suspect used physical force to obtain the victim’s purse from her.
During the altercation in struggling for the purse, the victim was knocked to the ground where she suffered bodily injury.
On Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, through thorough investigation and collected evidence, the suspect was identified and subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.
The suspect was identified as Robert Earl Aubrey, 47, of Borger. Aubrey was processed at the BPD and then incarcerated in the City of Borger Jail Facility.
As of this date and time, Aubrey remains incarcerated in the City of Borger Jail Facility awaiting arraignment.
Aubrey’s charge of aggravated robbery is a felony of the first degree.
