Borger ISD board approves resignations, new hires

The Borger ISD board approved two resignations and several new hires during its regular meeting last Thursday.
Resignations accepted by the board were from Kayla Barton, a teacher at Gateway Elementary, and Sarah Meier, a teacher at Borger High School.
The board approved the following new hires with the following contract terms for the upcoming school year:

Probationary – 11 month – 187 days
Roberto Duran, teacher, Crockett Elementary
Sharla Harmon, counselor, Paul Belton/Gateway/Crockett
Rachel Hughett, teacher, Crockett Elementary
Ginger Nunez, teacher, Paul Belton Elementary
Kimberly Piedra, teacher, Borger High School
Julie Thomas, teacher, Gateway Elementary
Phillip Waldrop, teacher, Borger High School

Probationary – 11 month – 202 days
Sandra Spalding, counselor, Borger High School

Multiple Assignment Probationary – 11 months – 197 days
Mike McGonagill, teacher/coach, Borger High School

Multiple Assignment Probationary – 11 months – 202 days (pending certification)
Pedro Murga, teacher/coach, Borger High School

Probationary – 10 months – 187 days (pending graduation/certification)
Angelica Garay, teacher, Paul Belton Elementary
Candace Henly, teacher, Gateway Elementary
Brenda Lowry, teacher, Crockett Elementary
Jack Newkirk, teacher, Borger High School
Cami Southall, teacher, Borger Middle School

Board members attending the meeting were Robert Bradley, president; Todd Harris, vice-president; David Brandon, secretary; Les Sharp, Diedre Hood, and Dr. Kent Gray. Board member Bill Myers did not attend.
