Borger hoop teams taking part in tournament play

Starting on Wednesday, the Borger Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs varsity basketball teams will be taking part in holiday tournament action in Lubbock and Breckenridge.
The Borger Bulldogs will travel to Lubbock to take part in the 53rd Annual FiberMax Caprock Classic, which has become one of the largest high school basketball tournaments in the country.
The Bulldogs will compete in the 32 team boys red bracket which will include teams from Midland Greenwood, Snyder, Monahans, Vernon, Andrews, Levelland, as well as district foes Pampa and Perryton.
The Bulldogs will open tournament play on Wednesday against Sands, who currently holds a #5 state ranking in the TABC 1A Division II basketball poll.
The winner of the Borger vs Sands contest will play the winner of the Spearman vs Dimmitt first round game.
The Borger Lady Bulldogs will take place in the Breckenridge Christmas Tournament.
The Lady Bulldogs are part of an eight team field which includes Throckmorton, Albany, Sweetwater and Breckenridge, who the Lady Bulldogs open the tournament against on Wednesday morning.
After taking part in the two tournaments, the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs will open 2012 on the road up in Spearman on Tuesday, January 3rd starting at 6:00 p.m.
