Borger Golfers still on top in after three rounds

The cooler weather didn’t affect golfers from Borger High School on Monday during the third round of the District 1-3A Golf Tournament at Hidden Hills Golf Course in Pampa as the Borger Boys Varsity extended their team lead over second place Perryton by 40 strokes by shooting a third round score of 338 to take their three round total to 314-306-338-958.
Individually on the boys’ side, Borger senior Will Paulsell continues to lead the field shooting a round low 78 to put his three round total at 69-72-78-219, sitting 12 strokes ahead of Perryton’s Hunter Wade with a three round score of 231.
The Bulldogs have two other golfers sitting in the top five of the standings with Dylan Coffer sitting in third place, 79-74-89-242, and Charlie Conner in fifth place, 83-81-84-248.
On the girls’ side, Borger’s Clarice Myers continues to sit in first place after three rounds after shooting a 98 on Monday to take her three-round total to 83-87-98-268, putting her 12 strokes ahead of Liz Hoelting of Pampa.
In the team standings, Pampa continues to lead in the girls’ standings with Borger sitting in second place with a 403-413-439-1255.
The fourth and final round of the District 1-3A Tournament will take place next Monday, April 11th in Dalhart.
