The Borger City Council will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, in the city council chambers of Borger City Hall, 600 North Main.
Action will be taken on the final reading of Ordinance O-005-11, amending the City of Borger Code of Ordinance, Article 4.02, Alcoholic Beverages.
The council will also conduct a public hearing on a request from Jeff Whittington to rezone a 1.5 acre tract of land located in the SE/4 of Section 18, Block â€śYâ€ť M&C Survey, from Single Family (IF-2) zoning district to General Residence (GR) zoning district, to be known as 100 Denton.
After the public hearing, the council will take action on the request.
An executive session will be held by the council for a consultation with attorney to discuss filing a petition in District Court for the abatement of structures at the following locations:
â€˘117 West Second (Lots 16-18, Block 68, Original Townsite Addition)
â€˘117 Deahl (Lot 1, Block 67, Original Townsite Addition)
After return to open session, the council will act on these items. It will also act to re-schedule and/or cancel the Jan. 3, 2012 city council meeting.
Action will be taken on the minutes of the regular meeting of Dec. 6, 2011, and expenditures for the first half of December.
A time for questions and comments from citizens will be held.
Citizens who have indicated their desire to speak to the City Council will be heard at this time.
In compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, unless the subject matter is on the agenda, City Council members are prevented from acting on the subject and may respond only with statements of factual information or existing city policy; however, City Council members may refer the person making the comment to a staff member or request city staff to place the subject matter on the future open meeting agenda.
Citizens are limited to three (3) minutes for their presentation to the City Council.
