Begin making plans now to participate and attend the Annual Borger Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade on December 7. The parade route will begin at Grand & Main and end in the 700 block of Main. There is no charge for entry into the parade. But, each entry needs to file an entry form with the Chamber of Commerce. The chamber office is located at 613 N. Main St. in downtown Borger.

There are some guidelines entries must follow. All entries must be decorated in holiday motif. The only live Santa in the parade will be provided by the chamber. Entries are asked to use a Christmas Season theme. Festive lighting and holiday music greatly enhances the parade for spectators. Every float must have a person walking on both sides to ensure children remain a safe distance from each float. Finally, no horses are allowed in the parade due to insurance regulations.

The parade line up begins at 5:30 p.m. Informal judging on entries starts at 6:00 p.m. The actual parade starts at 6:30 p.m.

The Downtown Merchant's Association will have their stores open and serving refreshments from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Other locations for holiday refreshments will be the Borger Chamber of Commerce office, City Hall and the Hutchinson County Museum.

Pick up your parade entry form from the Chamber office and return it by Tuesday, December 1. For questions contact the chamber office during regular business hours by calling (806) 274-2211 or email at beverly_benton@att.net.
