Borger chamber prepping for kickoff breakfast

August 29, 2012

The Borger Chamber of Commerce is prepping for its upcoming kickoff breakfast.
The annual event is set for Thursday, Sept. 6.
The breakfast will begin with serving lines opening at 6:45 a.m. and will conclude by 8 a.m. The breakfast will be held at Sutphen’s.
Beverly Benton, Chamber CEO, said reservations must be received by noon on Sept. 4 and may be made by calling 274-2211. Tickets for the breakfast are $10 and are payable at the door.
The event celebrates the kickoff of the new school year with an emphasis on athletic events. Leslie Young, athletic director, and Borger Head Football Coach James Day will give a preview of events and direction for the new year.
Benton said the kickoff breakfast is a great way for the community to come together in more ways than one.
“Borger businesses recognize the economic benefit of athletic events being held in our town and the kickoff breakfast is a good way to network with Borger citizens, and to thank the athletic departments for their contribution to our community,” she said.
Phillips 66, who is sponsoring this year’s breakfast, will be highlighting their company, letting the public know of the exciting plans in store for the upcoming year.
Benton encourages the public to make their reservations now for this event, and door prizes of the latest Bulldog gear will be given away.
“Be part of the Borger tradition and help us kick off another winning year for the Borger Bulldogs,” she said.
