Borger Boys Cross Country team earn another trip to state

Another year, another trip to state!On Saturday afternoon, the Borger Bulldog Cross County team earned its third consecutive trip to the state cross country meet.The Bulldogs finished in second place overall with 124 points, finishing just behind Andrews who won the 3A Regional title with 115 points.The team had two runners finish in the top 20 led by Grant Boren coming in 16th place with a time of 16:01, followed by Jordan Robertson who finished in 17th place with a time of 17:02.Throughout the 2011 season, the Bulldogs have been known to run well as a group and that was evident on Saturday, as only 37 seconds separated the team's top five runners.The way the team ran impressed Borger Cross Country Coach Leslie Young who said, “The varsity boys did just what they needed to do to earn another trip to state, they ran together like they have all season and that was the key.
