Borger Area Circle of Friends to Host a Membership Party

The Borger Area Circle of Friends will host a membership party in support of the Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center on Saturday, November 12, 2011. The party will be held at the Borger Country Club, 7pm-11pm. The theme of the Cocktail Party will be “Red, White & Blues”, in honor of Veteran’s Day, and will feature Red and White wines from New York and Texas and Blues Band, The Wilkerson Band. There will also be an auction and raffles.
The cost is $20 single and $35 per couple. Host couple donations of $100 includes party admission and recognition in the invitations and at the party. Donations for auction and raffle are still needed and greatly appreciated. All donations are tax deductible. It has been five years since a membership party was held in Borger so please contact Denise Klotz (contact info below) to be added to the mailing list or to update mailing information. The Circle of Friends is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients and their families in times of need.
Through its affiliation with Harrington Cancer Center, the Circle of Friends develops and implements fund raising activities to provide financial assistance and patient care and support programs for those affected by cancer in the Texas Panhandle, including patients from Borger, Fritch and Stinnett.
The Circle of Friends also works with Harrington Cancer Center to provide cancer educational opportunities for people throughout the region. Examples of Circle of Friends support of HCC patients includes:
Two furnished apartments for out-of-town patients to use when going through treatment
Pediatric Patient/Family Gatherings (a day at Wonderland Park, Christmas Party, Birthday Party at Camp Alphie, etc.)
Supplies for weekly support groups
Materials for chemotherapy classes, new patient books
Refreshments for patients during treatment
Assistance with patients’ travel, insurance premiums, rent or mortgage payments, medication, nutritional supplements, utilities and breast prosthesis
