Borger’s Head Volleyball and Girls Basketball positions come open

May 20, 2012

This past week, the Borger High School Head Volleyball and Girls Basketball positions became open.
On Wednesday Jason Carter informed the volleyball players that he is leaving Borger to take a principal position within the Roby Consolidated School District, which is near Sweetwater.
In December, Carter was promoted to the head volleyball coaching position after spending several years coaching and teaching in the Borger school district, including serving as an assistant volleyball coach under Cara Adams and Michael Littlejohn.
Carter started the fall 2011 semester working as an assistant coach for the Borger Cross Country team before stepping in and working with Ken Barbour to lead the Lady Bulldogs through district play and the playoffs after Littlejohn was put on administrative leave by the school district.
Travis Nicks is stepping down as the Lady Bulldogs Head Girls Basketball Coach after leading the basketball program for three years.
Nicks led the Lady Bulldogs to a playoff berth in 2011. But a young Lady Bulldogs team struggled throughout the 2011-12 campaign finishing in fourth place in District 1-3A.
Both head coaching positions were posted on the Borger ISD website on Thursday.
