(Boys) Booker 57 West Texas High 44
On Tuesday evening, the start of District 1-1A play didnâ€™t get off to the start the West Texas High Comanches wanted as the Booker Kiowas pulled away in the second half for the 57-44 win in Booker.
The Comanches were only down two points, 25-23, at halftime and were in striking distance to get the comeback win in the fourth period.
However, the Kiowas became a hot team in the final period and were able to pull away for the 13 point win.
Kiowa freshman Hunter Lile had the hot hand leading all scorers with 20 points.
Senior Alex Ramirez led the Comanches with 16 points followed by Chase Elliott, Ty Lay, and Justin Holmberg each scoring eight points.
The loss drops the Comanches to 15-6 overall, 0-1 in district play, while Booker improved to 8-4 overall and goes to 1-0 in district play.

The West Texas High Lady Comanches started the game with the Booker Lady Kiowas hot and had a 20-15 lead at halftime.
Unfortunately, the Lady Kiowas became a hot team in the second half, outscoring the Lady Comanches 28-13 in the final 16 minutes to pull ahead for the ten point win at home.
Cheyenne Tull and Katelyn Wilson each had nine points for the Lady Comanches
The loss drops the Lady Comanches to 7-16 for the season and 0-2 in district play, while the Lady Kiowas go to 1-1 in district.

Both the Comanches and Lady Comanches return to District 1-1A play tomorrow evening hosting Sunray with the girls tipping off at 6:30 p.m., followed by the boys at 8:00 p.m.
