The Borger Lady Bulldogs competed last Monday in the Dumas Spring Invitational golf tournament with 12 other teams from around the Panhandle.
Despite a rain soaked course and 50 mph wind gust, the team posted a 395 total which placed fourth in the tournament just one stroke behind third place Dumas who had a 394.
Senior Shelby Carter led the way firing an 87 to finish fifth in the individual standings.
Other Lady Bulldog scores were Clarice Myers 98, Whitney Swender 104, Hali Southall 106, Morgan Brown 130 and Melinda Anders 137.
The team is coached by Whitney Purcell.

About nine o’clock Tuesday evening at Kimbrough Memorial Stadium in Canyon, there was quite a contract among the people with the home team Canyon Eagles fans celebrating their boys soccer team’s first trip to the playoffs in almost ten years, while players and fans of the Borger Bulldogs were left leaving the stadium with a bitter taste in their mouths.

With the Bulldogs up 2-1, the playoff fate of both teams came down to a penalty kick in the 80th minute with Borger being called for a handball.
Eagles senior Wayne Munger sealed the fate of both teams as he put the ball past Borger goalkeeper Alberto Rangel to tie the game up 2-2, which would end up being the final score that would clinch the fourth playoff spot for Canyon in District 5-4A while the Bulldogs season comes to an end.
On Tuesday, the Borger High School Boys golf team took part in the Dumas Invitational Golf Tournament taking first place with a team total of 317 just in front of Perryton who had 318.

Making the pitch for the West Texas Lady Comanches against Sanford-Fritch yesterday afternoon is Abby Summers.
After putting up five runs in the top of the first inning and building a 8-2 lead after the fourth, the Sanford-Fritch Lady Eagles appeared to be on their way to getting the big win over Hutchinson County rivals the West Texas Lady Comanches in softball action yesterday afternoon.

However the Lady Comanches found a way to score six runs in the fifth and six innings to tie things up going into the seventh.
The Lady Eagles responded by scoring to runs in the top of the seventh but the Lady Comanches match the number in the bottom of the seventh followed by Sarah Kelly bringing in the winning run in the eight inning to complete the comeback win for West Texas.
