The West Texas Lady Comanches took three games from Childress last night in non district volleyball action in Stinnett. It looked like the Tribe might fall in the opening game, but they showed a lot of guts, hanging on for the win even though they were down by four and five points. They took the game to 29 points and won 29-27, then 25-16, and 25-18.
If they gave a nightly award for digs, Devin DeLapp would be the winner hands down. She was consistently getting to the ball with 18 digs. Madison Heston got 6.
Played at the Phillips Golf Course and Borger Country Club

Thursday evening the Borger Bulldog Freshmen and JV Football Teams opened the 2010 season hosting the Randall Raiders with the freshmen falling 16-0 while the JV got the shutout win 12-0. The Borger Freshmen found themselves in a defensive battle in a scoreless contest until the four minute mark of the fourth quarter when Randall finally got into the end zone with a 18 yard touchdown pass. A misplayed ball on the ensuing kickoff gave Randall back the ball with the Raiders adding the final touchdown of the game with about 30 seconds left. The JV also found themselves in a tough defensive battle but fortunately found came out on the winning end. Jacob Rendon capped off a solid drive in the first quarter with a three yard touchdown run to give the Bulldogs an early lead. The Bulldogs capped off the night by putting together a nice 15 play nine minute drive with the final touchdown of the game coming from a fumble recovery in the end zone by Ben Sharp to give the Borger JV squad the 12-0 win. Both the Freshmen and JV squads will travel to Amarillo next Thursday to take on Amarillo Caprock starting at 4:30 p.m.
