Borger ISD will be having a busy homecoming schedule over the next couple of days.
The homecoming parade will be held starting at around 6-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13. The parade route will line up at 5 p.m. in the parking lot of Cornerstone Christian Church, 10th and Main, and proceed south on Main Street, west on Third Street, and south on McGee towards BHS.
When participants arrive at Cornerstone the night of the parade, they are asked to find the row and number in which they have been assigned and proceed to their spot. Several BHS volunteers will be available to assist if parade participants have questions.
The parade will end in the Borger High School parking lot, and the pep rally will be held at Tex Hanna Gym shortly after the conclusion of the parade. The candidates for Homecoming Queen will be announced at that time.
The Borger Bulldogs will take to the field at Bulldog Stadium at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening to play against Vista Ridge, Colo.
The homecoming queen will be announced during half time of the football game. Senior queen candidates are Dakota Karins, Holly Jones, Cierra Weber, and Kaitlyn Vinyard. The freshman princess is Brenda Rangel, sophomore princess is Analee Pickerill, and junior princess is Emma Wood.
BHS has been holding theme days throughout the week. Tuesday was “Pink Out Day” and today is “Multiplicity Day.” Thursday will be “Fake Injury Day” and Friday is “Wacky Tacky Day.”
At 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, a ceremony will be held in the BHS Auditorium Foyer to honor the first recipients of the Borger ISD honor wall.
