Billy " Blu" Riley, 71 of Borger left this life August 16, 2013 in Borger, Texas. No services are scheduled. Cremation was under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mr. Riley was born August 1, 1942 in Pampa, Texas to Jim Earl and Dollie Pearl Friend Riley. He was raised in the Spring Creek Community. He was a US Navy veteran and a very accomplished guitar player. While living in California in the 60's he played with a country and western band George Steele and the Steelers. They won many awards. Blu as everyone called him played guitar with many top artist including Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash and Don Williams.

After moving back to Texas he worked as a Class A pipefitter for Brown and Root and a warehouseman for Zachery Construction. He also played with a lot of country and western bands in the area until a stroke made it difficult.

He is survived by his wife Sarah. Mother Dollie Riley of Borger. Sister and brother in law Shirley and Don Creacy of Fritch. Brother Ed Riley of Cardiff by the Sea, CA. Son Billy Earl Riley Jr. of CA. Daughter Shirley Hux of CA. Seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
