Billie Don “Dick” Miller, 70, of Borger died September 9 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 13 at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Dick was born June 20, 1942 in Ben Franklin, TX and had lived in Borger several years. He was a retired Staff Sargent in the Army serving multiple tours in Viet Nam earning the Silver Service Star, the Bronze Service Star, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/palm, Combat Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge and the Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon among other distinguished awards. After his service to his country he worked for the National Park Service for several years. He was a proud member of the Buffalo Soldiers.
Dick was preceded in death by his father Bennie Miller, Sr.
He is survived by his Mother Vester Miller of Borger, 2 Daughters; Sanquinetta D. Miller of Charlotte, NC and Teresa A. Miller-Johnson of Columbia, SC, 1 Son Billie D. Miller, Jr of Sumter, SC, 2 Sisters; Dorothy Sims and Cookie Taylor both of Borger, 2 Brothers; Bennie Miller and Eldridge Miller both of Borger, 11 Grandchildren; Phancynnette A.E. Miller, Ayreck D. Anderson, Aryenn D.M. Anderson, Shannon E. Johnson, Jr., Sharreef T. Johnson, Shavon M. Johnson, Geneva R. Cole, Tieya C. Miller, Tyliyah J. Miller, Tyja D. Miller, and Tykim J.M. Miller, 2 Great-Grandchildren; Jaleel M.H. Williams and Jazmyne T. Anderson. He was married to Pauline Brooks Miller of Sumter, SC for 35 years and produced 3 children.
