BHS senior Ben Sharp receives great honor

December 19, 2012

The Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) and the United States Marine Corp proudly announce the THSCA Academic All-State football team for 2012-13. The team is selected by a point system that awards points for GPA, class rank, and SAT or ACT score. The student/athletes are then placed on a team according to the number of points they have earned.
Borger High School senior, Ben Sharp, has been recognized by the state for his performance on the field and in the classroom. Sharp was selected to the Elite THSCA Academic All-State football team, the state's highest honor.
The Elite team represents the highest point total that can be achieved. The student/athlete must be a senior with an overall GPA of 92 or above, including grades 9-12 and the first six weeks of grade 12. They also must be a member of the team in good standing at the time of the nomination and be of good moral character.
Sharp was a defensive end and offensive lineman for the Bulldogs this year, and very well-liked by his coaches and fellow teammates.
Congratulations, Ben, on your great achievement!
