Bernice Opal Young Nicholson was born in Indiahoma, OK on August 16, 1918 and lived in Borger, Texas for many years. Opal has resided in Cedar Hill, Texas for the last 4 years. She went to heaven on August 6, 2011 and was 92 years of age.
Opal was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and sister. She was a dedicated member of Borger Christian Center and was committed to helping others. She was an exceptional seamstress and enjoyed crocheting and many other crafts. She loved cooking and particularly enjoyed making a variety of Christmas candies for her family and friends during the holiday season. She was an open hearted and thoughtful person who always brought joy to those around her. She was a devoted and faithful Christian woman who enjoyed prayer, hymns, bible study and scripture readings.
She is survived by her daughters Janell Nicholson Davidson and husband Ron Davidson of Grand Prairie, Texas and Carmine Bell and husband Roeland Bell of Vicksburg, MS., 8 grandchildren, Bob Bell, Bart Bell, Sim Nicholson, Jennifer Davidson, Lynn Breeden, Rod Davidson, Tobin Johnson and Sally McClain, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who she greatly loved.
Opal Nicholson is preceded in death by her husband Albert Sidney Nicholson and son Richard Nicholson of Borger, Texas.
Visitation was held at Stumpffâ€™s Funeral Home 620 E. Cherokee Ave. Nowata, OK 74048. 918-273-1550 on Monday, August 8, 2011. Interment was August 9, 2011 at Fair View Cemetery in Talala, OK.
