BCT set to present “Cookin’ With Gus”

August 1, 2012

Boomtown Community Theater on Main Street is gearing up for another play: “Cookin’ with Gus.”
BCT is planning to run the show on August 9, 10, and 11 (days may vary) at 7 p.m.
Cost is $18 for dinner and the show. Dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. and doors will open at 6 p.m.
Gussie Richardson is a famous food columnist and cookbook author. Her agent comes to tell her she’s been offered her own daily television show.
She wants to do it, but her boyfriend Walter is deadset against it and Gussie discovers she has stage fright and can’t open her mouth in front of a camera and ends up fainting.
Everybody tries to help her get over it ... Walter through hypnotism, Bernie, her agent, by threats; and even the crazy drunken Gypsy Carmen from next door casting spells.
Just when she thinks she’s cured, the taping turns into a comic nightmare, ending in an all-out food fight that almost ends the show and her relationship with Walter.
