BCT to debut latest show this evening
Boomtown Community Theatre presents its fall production, Romanian Uranium Mystery, directed by Tara Hopkins. This show is an audience participation dinner theatre. Audience members will have the chance to talk to cast members and ask questions to solve a murder. There will also be many clues throughout the show. The BCT will be serving beef sirloin tips with mexican rice and sides plus dessert during the show. Actors bringing life to the stage are Alexis White as Buff, Erin Acosta as Juliet Redheart, Benjamin Charles Ooley as Inspector Clueles, Richard Rowe as Busybody, Bree Brantwein as Goldy Digger, Austin Beevers as Dee Liver, Candace Hopkins as Wendy and Crystal Ann Ooley as Countess. The Boomtown Community Theatre has been providing the citizens of Borger live entertainment for 30 years now. BCT was founded by the late J. Scott Glen, the late Vance Jones and Sam Cornelius. The BCT originally started in the Frank Phillips College as part of its theatre department. From there it went on to be a part of the Magic Plains Art Council and in 1985 it branched from the MPAC and moved into its own building(the old Borger post office) and stayed there for about four years. After times started to get rough, the theater relocated to its current residence on Main St. in the early 90s. The BCT holds at least three to four shows annually. Boomtown is always looking for actors with little to no experience. Its is a non-profit organization - all donations received go to the dinners that are provided before every show and utilities to keep the building afloat. Go visit the theatre and audition for the next show or watch local people perform live at arms length from you. Tickets can be purchased from any of the cast members or call 806-680-4621. You can also reserve tickets at 273-2656.
