Bail has been set in the Amy Fernandez case.Tuesday evening in the United States District Court Room at 5:40 P.M Amy Fernandez and her represented lawyer Mr. Johnson appeared in front of a judge. Fernandez has been charged for the purpose of evading the reporting requirements and the regulations issued thereunder, structure, attempt to structure, and attempted to assist in structuring currency transactions with one or more domestic financial institutions by purchasing 37 cashier's checks with United States currency in the amounts of $3,000 or less. Bond for Fernandez was set at $20,000 and she was assigned to wear a home confinement ankle bracelet. She will be allowed to travel as far away as Dallas. If bond is made, she will be released sometime today. The arraignment of her husband Frank Fernandez, Jose Fernandez, Jr. and Aaron Fernandez will be held Nov. 2, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. Thomas Salazar remains unrepresented and has had his arraignment moved to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 3, 2011. All four men are being charged for drug trafficking.
