On Saturday, the 2011 high school and middle school cross country season got underway at Bulldog Stadium with nearly 600 runners taking part in the Borger Invitational.
In the first race of the year, the battle for 3A supremacy in West Texas already started to take shape as Perryton claimed first place in the varsity boys followed by Borger tying with Dumas for second. Randall’s Blake Robertson took home first place in the varsity boys. However, Perryton proved why they are in the 3A top ten rankings by placing four runners in the top 11 spots.
