Amarillo continues to purse a new baseball stadium. Is it a good idea?

Amarillo's city council continues to pursue a new baseball stadium. The estimated price for the new ballpark/event venue is $48.4 million. Originally, the estimate was $32 million. The extra cost is to make the new venue attractive for a new AA minor league team affiliated with Major League Baseball.

Consultants believe the new complex's economic impact will be about $8.7 million annually, with an estimated 3,900 per game attendance. Consultants also believe the ballpark will support 118 jobs and add $1.2 million in annual tax revenue. Do you support Amarillo's efforts to build a new ballpark and bring minor league baseball to the Panhandle region?
