Alvin R. “Lightning” McBroom

STINNETT - Alvin R. “Lightning” McBroom, 77, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011, in Stinnett.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Stinnett Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Gillmore, Pastor of Riverview Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mr. McBroom was born on Feb. 4, 1934 in Happy, Texas, and was a Stinnett resident since 1994, moving from Fritch. He was a diesel mechanic for Hutchinson County and a member of Riverview Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Norma. He liked to fish and enjoyed watching the Western Channel.
He is survived by his son Scott McBroom and wife Laura of Fritch, three stepsons, Cecil Mulkey and Lloyd Mulkey, both of Chickasha, Okla., and Charles Mulkey of Borger, two stepdaughters – Mandy Phillips and Debra Webb, both of Stinnett; three brothers, Billy McBroom of Happy, TX., Everett McBroom of Friona, TX, and Delbert McBroom of Evans, Colo., and sister Martha McBroom of Anniston, Ala.
