Aiden’s Closet at GPCH offers valuable service to new parents

September 24, 2012

Aiden’s Closet at Golden Plains Community Hospital offers many things to new parents who need something for their infant while staying at GPCH.
Aiden’s Closet is one of the many programs supported by Borger’s non-profit organizations.
Back in February, Borger Elks Lodge #1581 presented a check for $1,000 to Aiden’s Closet.
This 501 C 3 non-profit organization is also a part of the Jerry C. Waggoner Medical Foundation.
Aiden’s Closet is located in the Women’s Center at Golden Plains Community Hospital.
The closet was created in memory of Aiden James Marshall, son of ER nurse Monica Marshall and her husband Cody Marshall of Borger.
Aiden was born on Nov. 22, 2008, and passed away on April 17, 2009, from a severe heart defect.
Shortly after his death, RNs from the OB Ward at GPCH started Aiden’s Closet.
Anyone can donate to Aiden’s Closet, however, they ask for all donations to be new or handmade items.
These items are for babies between the ages of 0 to 18 months.
Used and perishable items are not accepted.
Items that are needed for the closet are onesies, blankets, diapers, wipes, bottles, burp pads, car seats, infant toys, mittens, socks, gowns, Vaseline, and baby toiletry items.
All donation items can be brought to the Women’s Center at GPCH.
Monetary contributions to Aiden’s Closet are also accepted.
