The Borger ISD board of trustees will be taking some action on state waivers during its upcoming meeting.
The meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013, in the board conference room of the Borger ISD Administration Building, 200 East Ninth.
The board will consider approval of state waivers for early release, staff development days, and minimum class size exceptions.
Action will also be taken on an order of election, a joint election order, and a resolution regarding the election on May 11, 2013.
The board will be taking care of various personnel matters, which include resignations and evaluation of administrative staff. It will also consider the superintendentâ€™s recommendations regarding the employment of principals and other administrative staff, which include the following:
â€˘Director of Athletics
â€˘Director of HAC SSA
â€˘Executive Director of Federal Programs and Instruction
â€˘Executive Director of Personnel
â€˘Instructional Services Coordinator
The board will also review a list of current substitutes.
An annual review of investments, policies, and strategies will take place, and a resolution will be considered on these items.
Several items will be considered for action under the boardâ€™s consent agenda, which include January 2013 payroll and disbursements, a Borger High School Band Trip Request, donations, and meeting minutes.
Campus/district reports will be given on Borger Middle School, Crockett Elementary School, and Paul Belton Elementary School. Monthly reports will be given on STAAR/EOC, AESOP, and the Borger Middle School SLR.
Enrollment for January 2013, dates to review, a legislative update, and a local district update â€“ DK (Local) will be discussed under the superintendentâ€™s report.
Financial and tax reports will be presented, and the board will discuss future agenda items, which includes evaluation of professional staff (evaluation and contracts).
A time of open forum will be held for the public to express its views to the board. Speakers are allowed five minutes, and the board cannot comment on items brought up in open forum.
The Sanford-Fritch ISD Board of Trustees will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, in the board room of the SFISD Administration Building, located at 540 Eagle Boulevard in Fritch.
The board will consider action on a resolution requesting a joint election with the City of Fritch and the City of Sanford, volleyball camp, tentatively set for June 10-12, 2013 for ninth through twelfth graders and June 10-13, 2013 for fourth through eighth graders, the school trustee election, and private donations for BPA.
Several items will be discussed in an executive session, which include discussion of personnel or to hear complaints against personnel or public officer, administrative contracts, and the consideration of discipline of a public school child, or complaint or charge against personnel.
Once the board returns to open session, it will take action, if any, on subjects discussed in the executive session.
Campus administrators will share campus information, the board president will set the date for the next regular meeting, and the business manager will share the monthly finance report.
The superintendent will discuss student membership, school trustee elections, BPA, the CHAMPS property, bond consideration, the Midwinter conference report, the state lawsuit, the school calendar, and resignations/retirements.
The board will consider approval on meeting minutes, and a time of open forum will be held.
