Abilene Cooper tops Borger boys and girls soccer teams

On Friday, Abilene Cooper got the sweep over the Borger Bulldog and Lady Bulldog soccer teams in the first round of play at the West Texas Invitational in Abilene.

The Bulldogs and the Cougars squared off in a good contest that was tied 1-1, until Cougars score two late goals to pull away for the win.
Cooper took a 0-1 lead at halftime on a penalty kick. But the Bulldogs were able to tie the game early in the second half off a goal by Paco Ibarra with an assist by Miguel Estrada.
The Bulldogs are 0-1 on the season and were scheduled to take on Abilene Wylie in the consolation bracket on Saturday morning.

The Lady Cougars came out scoring two goals early to set the tone for their 3-0 win over the Lady Bulldogs.
The loss drops the Lady Bulldogs to 0-1 who took on San Angelo Lake View on Saturday morning in the consolation bracket.
