Lady Comanches end season in area playoff

The West Texas High Lady Comanches made the long trip down to Paducah looking for their second playoff win of the year. They took on the district 8-1A Bryson Cowgirls in the area contest, and it was evident from the start that these teams were very evenly matched. The Cowgirls outlasted the Lady Comanches, though, in 4 sets: 21-25, 25-18, 19-25, 14-25.

Bulldogs fall in another close one

Seventeen seniors for the Borger Bulldogs were honored on Friday night in the final home football game of their career. These are seventeen guys who are good friends, team-players, and inspiring leaders for the younger Bulldogs to look up to.
Both teams came into the contest with a 1-1 district record. The Perryton Rangers came to town needing a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, their loss being to Pampa. Borger was hoping to spoil those hopes, but came up short in another close one, losing 17-14 in a very defensive, very hard-fought battle.

Lady Eagles claim bi-district title

The Sanford-Fritch Lady Eagles wanted it. They wanted a bi-district playoff win against Littlefield in Canyon on Monday night. And they got it. They fought hard for every point, had numerous comebacks, and came out victorious. They won in four sets: 21-25, 25-23, 27-25, and 25-22.

The Borger Bulldogs found the win column on Friday night against their favorite team to beat. For the last seven years, Borger has won the matchup against the beast in the east (as George Grover calls them).. the Pampa Harvesters. Friday was no different as Borger handed Pampa their first district loss and picked up their first win on the year. As it is every year, this game had everything and went down to the wire. Borger prevailed 21-14 and improved to 1-1 in district play.

Lady Dogs bid farewell to 2012 season

Eight senior Lady Bulldog volleyball players stepped out onto their home court for the last time on Tuesday night to a gym packed with fans in red. They played in four thrilling sets, but fell to River Road 22-25, 28-26, 23-25, and 20-25 to finish their season.

Heartbreak in Borger: Bulldogs fall to Dalhart

The Borger Bulldogs opened district play by welcoming the Dalhart Golden Wolves to Bulldog Stadium on Friday night. Borger has won the contest the last three years. On Friday night, they would fall short in a three point heartbreaker of a loss.

The Sanford-Fritch High School Varsity Eagles recently received news that they have been recognized as the Dave Campbell's Texas Football Army Strong 2A Team of the Week for the state after beating Canadian 21-20.

Lady Bulldogs fall to district foe Pampa

The Borger Lady Bulldogs hosted the Pampa Lady Harvesters on Tuesday night with revenge on their minds. The previous district matchup between these two teams went to five sets with the Lady Dogs falling short. It was a hard-fought battle, but the Lady Harvesters pulled out the win in four sets, 25-17, 25-19, 18-25, 25-23. The ladies fall to 2-4 in district play with two games to go.

BHS Golf: Dumas Invitational Results

The Borger Bulldogs traveled to Dumas this week. Despite the brutal weather, we managed to come out with a 5th place team finish with a 327-336-663.
Dylan Coffer finished 5th overall with a 146, four shots out of first. Dylan has placed in the top five in every tournament this fall.
Coach Grange says, “The boys played well despite the adverse weather conditions, they kept their head up and finished strong.”

Eagles take down the Wildcats in thrilling victory

The Sanford-Fritch Eagles were seeking a little revenge on Friday night when Canadian rolled into town, and they did not disappoint. The Eagles were determined and pulled out a thrilling one-point win in a game that literally went down to the last second.
Ryan Blakely broke free for a 50 yard run for the first Eagle score. Colton Valle's extra point was good. Valle then hauled in a 52 yard pass from Blakely for the next score and his kick was true. The Eagles found themselves up 14-0 after the first quarter.
