Tuberville era in Lubbock should not be considered a failure yet

November 15, 2011

After the Texas Tech Red Raiders lost 66-6 last Saturday to Oklahoma State in Lubbock, it didn’t take too long for people to get on the message boards and start debating if the football program is going the right direction under head coach Tommy Tuberville.
After such a bad loss, especially at home, the message board was full of Red Raider fans saying they are ready for Texas Tech to go in a new direction and saying Tuberville has been nothing more than a figure head for the program and not a good coach.

They sued for what????

A Fresh Perspective
By Michelle Berry
It amazes me nowadays what types of things people will file lawsuits about in this day and time. What amazes me the cost is just how petty some of these lawsuits actually are.
An organization known as the Texans For Lawsuit Abuse has a list of some of the most outrageous lawsuits ever filed on its web site. As I scoured the list, I honestly had to shake my head at some of the craziness surrounding them.

“It must be true,” Sylvia thought. “Because Mamma never tells me that I am pretty.”
Even when she wore a new dress there was no compliment from Mamma.
But then Mamma was a beautiful woman.
So Sylvia grew up deeply self-conscious about her skin that was well populated with pimples.

Both of them worked for the same public service agency. Bruce* was in a different department than Amanda*, but from time to time they would pass each other at the time clock or out in the parking lot. Sometimes they passed without speaking but occasionally there was a nod or maybe a generic greeting befitting their positions.

He’s a man’s man, tall and big. And he’s strong. Life has made him tough just like his dad, but he’s not hard.
There is a noble demeanor about him, a gentle strength that quietly whispers, “We’re going to do the right thing here.”
And Jim* loves working.
There is not a day when he doesn’t gladly crawl out of bed and go to work.
He works when he’s sick, he works when he’s well.
He works when things are going smoothly. He works when things aren’t going well. He’s a workingman.
Some people presume he is on the job because he owns the business.
