Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 in the Minton Memorial Chapel in Borger. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery. Ms. Wagner will lie in state at Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. In lieu of flowers, her memory may be honored with gift to the Salvation Army or the Red Cross.
The Hutchinson County Historical Museum is once again flaunting the art of quilting to the public. Only this time it comes from a man’s point of view.
Archie Cummings will make his appearance at HCHM Quilt Show this Sunday. He will give a presentation on his thoughts about quilting beginning at 2 p.m.
There will be plenty of familiar faces in Hutchinson County this weekend. They may look a little older than some remember, but they’re back to celebrate the black.

More than 300 Phillips High School alumni, teachers and school officials will converge on Borger and Stinnett to participate in the Phillips Alumni Association’s school reunion. The event is scheduled to run through Saturday, and will include the 50th reunion of the PHS Class of 1964.

Panhandle Community Services was recently awarded a grant to help people in the Texas panhandle to apply for health care through the Affordable Care Act and the Market Place.
The City of Sanford has a new face in a familiar place. Lesley Nikkinen was welcomed in as the new city secretary this week .
Nikkinen has lived in the Sanford area for about a year and previously lived in Tampa, Florida for 36 years prior to moving to Sanford.
Nikkinen said her new career was a result of a chance meeting with a local resident.
“I met someone through the Elks Lodge.” she stated.
David B. King, 31, of Borger passed away on July 5, 2014.
Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Valley View Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home 2209 S. Arthur St. Amarillo, Texas.
You may just be a prick of a needle away from saving a life. At least, that is what the residents of Stinnett are hoping as they gear up for their annual blood drive.
Coffee Memorial Blood Center will be in Stinnett next week to as part of its blood drive efforts. CMBC officials are encouraging all Hutchinson County residents give the gift of life, and donate blood. All blood types are needed, CMBC officials said.
The City of Stinnett drive is scheduled for July 14, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 801 Main Street in the Community Center.
Hutchinson County residents should get ready to rev up your engines for a good cause. The 2014 Casey Aylor Memorial Motorcycle Ride is just a few weeks away! The Casey Aylor Memorial Motorcycle Ride is scheduled to be held on Saturday, July 19.
The Future Lady Bulldog Basketball Camp will be held on July 14th through the 17th.
Beth Miller, 89, of Amarillo, died Sunday, July 6, 2014.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 in Hansford Cemetery at Spearman. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Miller was born on July 17, 1924 in Delhi, Oklahoma to Zula and Edward Uptergrove. She owned and operated a beauty shop for over 35 years in Borger. Mrs. Miller was an officer in the order of the Eastern Star. She was a charter member of Keeler Baptist Church.
She married Joe C. Miller on Sept. 7, 1946 in Spearman.
