Fritch’s Medical Clinic is expected to reopen soon, after closing earlier this week.
The News-Herald has received reports of an accident and emergency responders south of Borger on the Panhandle highways. Reports from motorists are that at least one vehicle, a dark colored SUV has been involved in a crash and official crews are on scene.
We are urging travellers to avoid the area if possible as congestion increases.

Elza Marie Patterson, 84 of Borger died Saturday, March 1, 2014. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday March 5, 2014 at Minton Memorial Chapel with Pastor Conny Moore and Steve Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. There will be a visitation Tuesday March 4, 2014 at the funeral home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Marie was born October 8, 1929 to Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Moffitt in Achille, Oklahoma.
Borger Police officers have arrested a wanted subject and discovered a stash of drugs and cash in his possession, according to a news release issued by Captain Anthony Griffin of the BPD.

Helen Wrighton Klapper passed away on March 5, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Assisted Living residence in Estes Park, Colorado where she has been living for the past four years.
Helen was born March 26, 1921 in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Fred and Annie Bull. She grew up on her parentâ€™s dairy farm and attended school in Aberdeen through graduation from high School.
Jeannette Carlson Johnson enjoyed the finer things in life: books, art,
crossword puzzles, movies, and ice cream. She smiled brightly and laughed hard.
She had a sharp wit and was an expert in the art of conversation. She never met a
Marilyn Yvonne Garrett of Borger, Texas passed away Monday March 3, 2014. Marilyn was born in Hutchinson County August 31935 to Casey and Ruby (Singleton) Garrett. Marilyn graduated from Phillips High School in 1953 and received a degree from Harding University in Searcy Arkansas. During her life she was an Extension Home Agent in Guymon, Oklahoma. Marilyn worked at the Borger Museum, Girl’s town in White Deer and was a “Tupperware Lady” in Borger. Marilyn was an active member of Church of Christ at Borger and the children’s bus program was her love.
