EL Reno, Okla.-On Friday, the Frank Phillips College Plainsmen (8-16) split their doubleheader with Redlands Community College 2-0 and 5-6 in Oklahoma.
In game one, Plainsmen pitcher Sam Martin nearly had a no-hitter by giving up just one hit in seven innings of work.
Andrew Landin had a two RBI hit in the first inning to account for all the runs in the game.
In game two, the Plainsmen built a 4-0 lead by the third inning. But Redlands rallied late by scoring five runs in the final three innings to lead them to the one run win.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March, 24, 2012 at the Church of Christ at Borger with Mr. Denny Snead, Pastor officiating, and Pastor Terry Stegall of Newlife church in Dalhart assisting. LIBERAL, KS â€“ Roxanne Redman, 66, Liberal, KS, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita, KS.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Miller Chapel with Rev. Rex Petty presiding. Interment will be in the Liberal Cemetery.

The Crimestoppers and Borger Police Department are seeking help in solving a burglary that occurred this past Monday.
On the morning of March 19, 2012, PD officers responded to a residential burglary in the 1200 block of University Place, according to Lt. Anthony Griffin of the BPD.
It appeared as though the burglary took place just shortly before officers arrived on scene. During the burglary, the suspect(s) took a pink and tan Gucci purse and wallet valued at $2,000.
An amended animal control ordinance for the City of Borger is officially moving forward.
During its regular meeting Tuesday, the Borger City Council acted to introduce an ordinance to amend the City of Borger Code of Ordinances pertaining to animal control.
Eddie Edwards, Borger City Manager, said the cityâ€™s current ordinance regulating animals is located in Chapter 2 of the Code of Ordinances. He said he is not sure when the original ordinance was first adopted, but it has been modified numerous times.
Borger â€“ Carolyn Marie Finchum, 65, died Tuesday, March 20 in Brownfield, Texas.
Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 24 at Westlawn Memorial Park with Jake Minton and Sharmain Westmoreland officiating.
Interment is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Carolyn was born in San Diego, CA and lived 20 years in Borger before moving to Amarillo.
She was preceded in death by her mother Jennie Gammill, her step-father Francis Davis Gammill and her father O. C. Finchum, Jr.
Tomorrow is Don Rice Day!
In celebration of Donâ€™s 50 years with the Borger News-Herald, a special reception is being held at the BNH offices at 10 a.m. tomorrow. There will be refreshments and drinks, and the public is invited to attend.
The Hutchinson County Commissioners will be making a special proclamation declaring March 23 â€śDon Rice Day,â€ť and a special presentation will be made to Don during the festivities.
Don will have some of his old cameras and photos on display during the reception for those in attendance to see.
The process of annexing land for a proposed Wal-Mart Supercenter for the City of Borger is now moving forward.
During its regular meeting Tuesday, the Borger City Council received the petition requesting annexation of the remaining portion of a 19.773 acre tract of land in Section 23, Block Y, Arnold & Barrett-Morris & Cummings Survey, Hutchinson County, instructed staff to prepare a service plan, and approved a resolution setting two public hearings for May 15, 2012.
HutchCares: Living At Home keeps on giving at its Appreciation Banquet in honor of its volunteers.
The banquet is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Fairlanes Baptist Church, 3000 Fairlanes Blvd., in Borger.
There will be live entertainment provided by John Alexander and Linda Cox, along with a silent auction beginning at 6:30 p.m. for volunteers and guests to enjoy.
