On November 15, 2011 a federal grand jury returned an indictment charging Jose Luis Fernandez, aka âJunior,â 37, Francisco Villanueva Fernandez, aka âFrank,â 43, Aaron Steven Fernandez, aka âFat A--,â 26, and Thomas Joseph Salazar, aka âT.J.â with various offenses related to narcotics trafficking, announced U.S. Attorney Sarah R. SaldaĂ±a of the Northern District of Texas.
The defendants remain on pre-trial release following their arrests early this month by Special Agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Arraignment dates have not yet been set.
On Tuesday night, the West Texas High Lady Comanches were not able to overcome their slow start, falling to Perryton 56-28 in non-district play in Perryton.
Perryton used a big second period to build a 33-11 lead at halftime.
Junior Natalie Franklin led the Lady Comanches in scoring with nine points, followed by Sarah Kelly and Devin DeLapp adding five points each.
The Lady Comanches drop to 0-2 for the 2011-12 season and will next take part in the Amarillo Highland Park Tournament this weekend.
On Tuesday evening, the Sanford-Fritch Lady Eagles hosted the Gruver Lady Hounds for a basketball matchup.
The Lady Hounds came out aggressive and quickly had an 8-3 run before Coach Hale and his Lady Eagles needed a timeout.
Too many missed shots were the main reason Gruver was in the lead. The first quarter ended with Gruver on top 11-8.
The second quarter was a ârun & gunâ race with good defense and steals.

On Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, Coffee Memorial Blood Center will hold a blood drive at the Stinnett Community Center on 801 Main Street.
The drive will begin at 4 p.m. and last until 7 p.m. You must be 17 years old and present a photo ID or a donor card.
All eligible donors will receive a Coffee Memorial Blood Center t-shirt.
All blood types are needed. There is no substitute for blood. It can only come from volunteer blood donors.

On Saturday, the Sanford-Fritch Eagles will take on the Cisco Lobos in the 2A Division II Area playoff round.
The game between the Eagles and Lobos will take place at Wichita Falls ISD Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls beginning at 6:30 p.m.

On Tuesday night, the Borger Lady Bulldogs won their 2011-12 home opener against the White Deer Lady Bucks 58-42 at Tex Hanna Gym.
The game featured some sloppy play that is expected arly in the season, including a lot of turnovers and cold shooting. But the young Lady Bulldogs showed that this team potentially will be a fun one to watch all season, due to solid play on both ends of the court.
In the second half, the Lady Bulldogs came out playing more aggressive on both ends of the court.
Ralls Appliance, GE Whirlpool, United Supermarkets and the Salvation Army will donate new refrigerators stocked full of groceries to the less fortunate families this year.
Ralls Appliance offered this to many families last year for the holidays.

PETA asked the tiny Texas Panhandle town of Turkey on Monday to change its name to Tofurky for Thanksgiving.
PETA made its pitch to âpromote compassion,â it said in its letter, offering to provide a âdelicious, healthy vegan holiday feastâ for the town in exchange for the name change.
The people in the community has made their voices heard by saying "thanks but no thanks."

HAPPY â Caroline Dietz, 79, died Nov. 13, 2011, in Canyon.
Services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Happy. Rosary will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Happyâs Memorial Chapel. Viewing will be at Brooks Chapel in Canyon on Monday and Happyâs Memorial Chapel on Tuesday. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors.
Caroline Dietz was born on June 3, 1932 to Adolph and Rose Schulte. She married James Dietz on August 28, 1951 and they just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
