The rednecks are about to get their own sports event ... and everyone will get a few laughs from it while generating some additional funds for victims of the May 11 wildfire in Fritch that destroyed more than 230 homes and left over 100 residents homeless.
“We wanted to do something to help,” said Olympics organizer Madeline Lyckman. “But I knew if we were going to do this, we were going to have a good time doing it.”
The Hutchinson County Republican Women will try and get the political season off to a rousing start on Aug. 7 when they host Suzanne Bellsnyder, a representative for Greg Abbott, at their upcoming meeting.

Brenda Kay Williams, 69, of Borger went to be with our Lord on July 26, 2014, surrounded by loved ones. The oldest of five children, Brenda was born in Lubbock, Texas on April 4, 1945 to John and Christine Rogers. She was raised in Carlsbad, NM where she met the love of her life, Robert Lee Williams in March, 1962. They were married January 5, 1963 and celebrated their 50th Anniversary in a surprise vow renewal ceremony December 23, 2012.
Comedian Ron White, famous for his “Blue Collar Comedy Tour” with Jeff Foxworthy, is doing his best to bring a few smiles to Hutchinson County. The comedian announced earlier this week that he would be donating to proceeds of his upcoming “Nutcracker” show in Wichita Falls to the Hutchinson County United Ways’ Fritch Wildfire Relief Fund.
STINNETT – The Hutchinson County Commissioner’s sent a clear message to the federal government on Monday morning during their meeting. They aren’t opposed to housing needy immigrant children ... but they don’t want to be footing the bill at local taxpayers’ expense.
When it comes to rainfall, residents of Hutchinson County had two reasons to be thrilled to see precipitation falling from the sky. The rain was desperately needed for crops, and, even more so, it was needed to help add water to Lake Meredith.
Hutchinson County could soon find itself telling victims of the May 11 wildfire they can’t dispose of their debris at the designated dump site in Fritch. And, according to county officials, it will have to happen sooner rather than later in order to facilitate the removal of the debris by outside companies.

Thelma Ruth Litchford Moon Dugan was born November 25, 1928, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to John and Ruth Litchford. She attended Phillips High School. Thelma married Melvin Muriel Moon in 1945. They moved to Long Beach, California to begin their family. They lived most of their years in California until his death in 1973. They were married 28 years.
Thelma married Lloyd Dugan in and lived in Fritch until his death in 1997. They were married 19 years.
Daniva Jean Dally, 57, passed away July 27, 2014.
Graveside service will be 2:30 pm Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Daniva was born October 6, 1956 in Borger, Texas to Homer and Marietta West. She loved life to the fullest especially spending time with her grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Johnny Blommaert.
