The West Texas Lady Comanches started district play with a loss to the Booker Lady Kiowas in Booker.
Yesterday afternoon in Stinnett, the Lady Comanches trailed the entire game. They were losing 8-3 after four innings, but they slowly crept back into the game.
Trailing 8-7 in the bottom of the seventh, Abby Summers hit a sacrifice to center field to knock in the tying run of Lanie Hazel who was on base with a walk.
Then, Sarah Kelly belted a base hit to center field to score Chay Sargent and give WT the win 9-8.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Pampa Lady Harvesters jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning on their way to defeating the Borger Lady Bulldogs 8-1 in District 1-3A action. The loss takes Borger to 1-3 in district play and the team will next travel to Dalhart on Saturday to take on the Lady Wolves at 1:00 p.m.
The cooler weather didnât affect golfers from Borger High School on Monday during the third round of the District 1-3A Golf Tournament at Hidden Hills Golf Course in Pampa as the Borger Boys Varsity extended their team lead over second place Perryton by 40 strokes by shooting a third round score of 338 to take their three round total to 314-306-338-958.
The Hutchinson County Soccer Association has teamed up to host the week-long âBritish Soccer Campâ during the week of 7/18/11 â 7/22/11 at The Soccer Fields, Veta Street, Borger, TX, 79007.
The camp will run Monday through Friday and each child will be coached by a member of Challengerâs team of 1,000 British soccer coaches flown to the USA exclusively to work on these programs. Challenger Sports will hold over 3,000 British Soccer camps this summer and will coach over 120,000 players between the ages of 3 and 19.
On Saturday afternoon the Borger Lady Bulldogs got into the District 1-3A win column by out-slugging the Perryton Rangerettes 19-13 up in Perryton.
Lady Bulldogs Head Coach Steve Watkins was pleased with his teamâs performance, saying, âBoth teams were hitting and making plays; we just made more. I am proud of them, they fought and scratched and got âer done. We finally hit the ball well, executed plays and made the routine plays on defense.â
Seniors Brittany Thomas and Lyndsey Barrow each had homeruns in the game with the whole team doing a good job at the plate, according to Watkins.
After struggling on Friday in their first two games with El Paso CC, the Frank Phillips College Plainsmen bounced back on Saturday to get two wins to even the series winning 13-3 and 14-11. Getting the win on the mound for the Plainsmen were Eric Ramirez and Manny Matos. The Plainsmen are now 9-7 in WJCAC play where they are tied with Midland College for fourth place.
PERRYTON-Great start. Horrible ending.
Those are the words that can be used to describe Saturday afternoonâs District 1-3A contest between the Borger Bulldogs and the Perryton Rangers.
The home team Rangers were able to extend their winning streak over the Bulldogs on the baseball diamond with a 18-8 win.
The afternoon started on a high note for the Bulldogs as junior Max Lusk and senior Brandon Garcia connected for two homeruns in the top of the first inning to help give Borger an early 3-0 lead.
An RBI single by Lusk in the top of the second inning gave Borger a 4-1 lead.

Sanford-Fritch 12 Boys Ranch 0
The Sanford-Fritch Eagles had a great overall performance on Saturday by scoring 12 runs in five innings and only giving up two hits in their 12-0 win over Boys Ranch.
Sophomore Colton Valle got the win on the mound.
The Eagles travel to Childress tomorrow.
West Texas 5 Shamrock 3
The West Texas High Comanches improved to 2-1 in District 6-1A play on Friday evening by defeating the Shamorck Irish 5-3.
With Shamrock holding a 2-1 lead the Comanches scored three runs in the top of the fifth to go ahead for good in the game.
Longtime Borger ISD employee E.J. âJeepâ Webb has been selected as a 2011 Hall of Fame inductee by the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA).
Webb will be recognized at an awards luncheon during the 2011 Summer Coaches Clinic on Wednesday, July 13th at the Omni Southpark Hotel in Austin.
Webb started his time in Borger in 1958 as an assistant coach before moving to Canyon in 1960.
Webb returned to Borger as an assistant football coach and head track coach in 1966.
The West Texas Lady Comanches hosted the Lady Broncos from Clarendon on Friday.
It was a close game through five innings, with the score was tied at two until the top of the sixth. Thatâs when four WT errors and busy bats from Clarendon gave them seven runs along with two more in the seventh to give the Lady Broncos a 11-2 victory.
Danielle Heater was on the mound for the Lady Comanches. She struck out eight and walked four hitters. The Lady Broncos struck out eleven Lady Tribe batters.
