-Borger soccer teams fall to Canyon. The girls lose 4-0 and the boys 3-0. A full page is dedicated to their games and the season in this weekend's edition of the BNH.
-Borger baseball falls to Pampa 4-2 to fall to 1-1 in district.
-Borger softball falls to Pampa 5-4 in a rare loss to fall to 1-1 in district play.
-Sanford-Fritch Lady Eagles softball lose to Dalhart, 14-3 despite a quick start and hard fought play throughout.
-FPC Lady Plainsmen lose two to El Paso Community College. They will play two more games at home Saturday at 10 and 12.

[March 20, Amarillo]: The Amarillo Venom will be holding a press conference on Thursday, March 21 at the Amarillo Civic Center Coliseum on Coors Field at 2:00 p.m.
Amarillo Venom head coach Julian Reese will speak to the media about the upcoming game on Saturday, March 23 as the Venom are getting ready to defend their Lone Star Football League Championship. The Amarillo Venom are hosting the New Mexico Stars in their season opener at the Coors Field in the Amarillo Civic Center Coliseum. Gates open at 6 p.m. and kickoff is at 7:05 p.m.

It might be spring break, but county athletes are still in action this week.
-Results from all three county schools participating in the Gruver and Panhandle track meets will be in Monday's edition of the BNH.
-Borger soccer will be in action on Monday and Tuesday. Girls will play on Monday, JV at 4:30 and Varsity at 6:30 against Randall. The boys will follow the same schedule on Tuesday evening.
-Borger baseball will be playing in 3 away games this week. They will play at Canyon on Tuesday at 1:00, at San Jacinto on Thursday at 1:00, and a double header in Hereford at 11:30a/1p.

[Amarillo, TX March 4]: Single-game tickets for the Amarillo Venom home games are now on sale. Come and check out your Amarillo Venom as they return to the field Saturday, March 23 and start their campaign for a repeat at the Lone Star Football League championship.

Today, three lovely ladies from West Texas High left to compete in the Regional Powerlifting Meet in Mertzen, TX, just south of San Angelo. Representing the Lady Comanches are Abby Kovarna, Echo O'Brien, and Mallory Bell. Should they advance, they will compete March 16th at the State Meet. Good luck, ladies!

[Amarillo, TX FEB. 27]: The Amarillo Venom report to training camp on Feb. 27 to begin preparing for a second run at the Lone Star Football League championship. The schedule for training camp is as follows:
2/27/13- Players arrive at their hotel and then have a player’s dinner that night.
2/28/13- Players physicals, paperwork, and pictures at 5 p.m. at the Civic Center Hospitality Room. Media welcome for interviews, enter gate 7
3/1/13- Running and conditioning

-The Varsity boys and girls soccer games scheduled with Pampa have been cancelled today. They have been rescheduled for tomorrow at 3:00 and 5:00pm. If they cannot play tomorrow, the JV soccer games with PD on Monday will be cancelled and the varsity will play instead at 5:00 and 7:00pm in Pampa.
-The Sanford-Fritch softball tournament this weekend has been cancelled.

Borger cruised to a 23-5 victory over West Texas High on Tuesday, scoring 17 runs in the second inning.
Tootie Karins had two triples and three RBIs in the inning. Maegan Stone and Kyla Baker each had three RBIs for Borger in the win.
For WT, Rexanna Kelly and Kenzie Tucker had two RBIs a piece. Kelly had a double, and Tucker a triple for the Lady Comanches.
