On Saturday morning, the Borger Lady Bulldogs Softball team (17-14) will begin its best of three 3A Bi-District playoff series against the Lamesa Golden Tornadoes in Littlefield.
The Lady Bulldogs, after posting a 15-7 non-district record, were poised to make a run for the District 1-3A title. However, the Lady Bulldogs had to make their road to the playoffs dramatic by dropping their first four district games and needed a strong finish to clinch the final district playoff berth over Dalhart.
On Saturday, the Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen will host Clarendon College in a WJCAC doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m. at LINN Energy Park in Johnson Park.
The series will be the final home games for the Lady Plainsmen for the 2012 season.
The Lady Plainsmen are battling El Paso Community College for the final WJCAC berth into the Region V Tournament.

The West Texas Lady Comanches ended the regular season tied with Clarendon in second. They played a game in Pampa Tuesday afternoon to decide post season position. The two teams split the District meetings in regular season. The Tribe took care of business in a close one with a 5-4 win. Erin Summers got the win for WT. She struck out 4 batters and walked 3.
WT took care of the top of the Lady Broncos batting order 1-2-3. Rachel Wallace got the Lady Comanches on the board when she stole home on a passed ball. The score after one was 1-0 WT High.
The Borger Lady Bulldogs and Sanford-Fritch Lady Eagles have scheduled their Bi-District Playoff Round series.

Game one of the series will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28th with game two to follow. If a third game is necessary, it will take place on Monday, April 30th at 6:00 p.m. in Luttlefield.
West Texas High had two games left on their District schedule on Saturday and they needed just one win out of the two for a playoff spot. They did it, at Claude, in a close one 8-7. The Tribe did an exceptional job defensively, with a double play, and individual effort by all to just keep the ball in front of them. Jess Shields got the win, pitching 5.2 innings, and Carlos Juarez threw the last 1.1 innings. Shields struck out 2 and walked 4, Juarez struck out 2 and walked none.
On Saturday afternoon, the Perryton Rangers jumped out on top of the Borger Bulldogs early and were able to hang on for a 5-3 win in District 1-3A action at Huber Park.
The Bulldogs had a couple of opportunities to either tie the game or take the lead. But good Ranger defense and a big break in the fourth inning kept a late Bulldog rally from taking place.
Perryton opened the game by hitting a lead-off double and RBI single to take a 0-1 lead on the first two pitches of the game.
Before the Bulldogs could get off the field, two errors led to two more Ranger runs, making it a 0-3 game.
On April 10th, the Perryton Rangerettes used a seventh inning rally to get the 10-9 win over the Lady Bulldogs in Perryton.
On Saturday afternoon, late inning heroics took place again, as the Rangerettes scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to escape Borger with a 3-2 win in District 1-3A action.
In the top of the first inning, the Rangerettes took a 0-1 lead off a passed ball at home plate. But the Lady Bulldogs quickly responded in the bottom half of the inning with Alex Lopez hitting a triple and being brought in on a RBI single by Dakota Karins.
On Saturday afternoon, Midland College won both of their WJCAC games against the Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen, 6-1 and 16-3.
In game one, Lucinda Ponce hit a home run in the third inning, but the big hit would be just one of the two hits the Lady Plainsmen would get in the game.
After scoring two runs in the first inning, Midland College started to pull away by adding a run in both the third and fourth innings.
