Ribera to take over Lubbock High baseball program

On Tuesday afternoon, Borger ISD Superintendent Chance Welch informed the Borger News Herald that Steve Ribera is resigning as the head baseball coach at Borger High School in order to take a similar position at Lubbock High School.
Ribera just finished his second season leading the Bulldogs, where the team won the District 1-3A title and reached the 3A Regional Quarterfinals in 2011 and qualified for post-season play in 2012 by finishing in second place in District 1-3A.
Ribera replaces Freddie Tobias, who resigned on May 14 after six seasons with the Westerners.
