Entering Saturday, Bulldog fans had wonder how the Borger Bulldogs would perform in their first game after losing a family member within the Bulldog program. The answer was a pleasant surprise, as the Bulldogs rallied around each other and put together a dominating performance against District 1-3A foes the Perryton Rangers, with the Bulldogs leaving Huber Park with the 13-1 win in five innings.
The Irish weren’t so lucky Saturday afternoon when the WT Comanches came to Shamrock and held the men in green scoreless in an 8-0 win. Carlos Juarez went all seven innings and got the win for the Tribe. He fanned six hitters while walking just one. Juarez also singled to left field and walked twice, scoring three runs. The Tribe made a couple of heads up plays defensively and Chase Elliott did a nice job behind the plate.
On Saturday, the Perryton Rangerettes topped the Borger Lady Bulldogs 10-8 in District 1-3A play. The Lady Bulldogs drop to 0-3 in district play, while Perryton improved to 2-1. The Lady Bulldogs will begin the second round of district play tomorrow afternoon hosting Pampa at 4:30 p.m. Borger senior Lauren Hernandez comes in to score a run on Saturday.
