O’Brien leads Pampa over Lady Bulldogs, 7-0

On Wednesday afternoon, the Borger Lady Bulldogs put together a solid game out on the field and got a good performance in the pitcher’s circle by sophomore Taylor Hickman. Unfortunately the solid effort would not lead to a win, as the Pampa Lady Harvesters used a dominating pitching performance by Alexa O’Brien to leave Agnes Howe Park with the 7-0 win in District 1-3A play.
O’Brien pitched seven innings giving up just two hits and no runs, while striking out 12 Lady Bulldog batters.

Sluggish start dooms Borger against Pampa, 8-3

On Wednesday evening, the Borger Bulldogs struggled early in their 8-3 loss to the Pampa Harvesters in District 1-3A play.
The Harvesters racked up all eight of their runs by the top of the fourth inning, while the Bulldogs didn’t get a base hit until the third inning.
The Harvesters opened the game scoring three runs in the top of the first inning.
Pampa pitcher James Thompson had a solid outing on the mound going seven innings giving up three runs on five hits.

West Texas High golfers qualify for 1A Regional Tournament

The final round of the District 7-1A boys golf tournament was held at the Borger Country Club golf course on Tuesday, April 3rd. West Texas High’s Nathan Forrest shot a final round of 71 to go with his previous round of 70 for a total of 141 to take second place overall in the district tournament..
West Texas High’s Justin Hawthorne shot a final round of 77 to go with his previous round of 79 for a total of 156. to take third place overall ..
Both young men have qualified for the Regional Golf Tournament to be held in Lubbock on April 16th&17th at the Lakeridge Country Club golf course.

#25 Lady Comanches top Booker 3-2

In their first game after being ranked in the top 25 in Class 1A by the TGCA on Tuesday, the West Texas High Lady Comanches found themsevles in a tough battle against the Booker Lady Kiowas in District 6-1A play.
The game was tied 2-2 going into the bottom of the seventh inning, where the Lady Comanches were able to bring in the winning run to keep from going into extra innings.
Erin Summers had a good game in the pitcher’s circle for the Lady Comanches giving up two runs and four hits.
The win improves the Lady Comanches to 11-8 overall and to 3-2 in district play.

Booker hands Comanches their first District baseball loss

West Texas High hosted the Booker Kiowas Tuesday afternoon in a clash of the tribes. The Comanches were hoping to remain perfect going into the game with a 3-0 record. The Comanches committed eleven errors in a 16-6 loss and they struggled at the plate. Jess Shirley took the loss with two strike outs, he allowed ten hits and seven earned runs. Carlos Juarez closed the last two innings allowing just two hits and three earned runs.

Borger girls golf team sit in second place after one round

The Borger High School Girls A Golf team sits in second place after the first round of the District 1-3A Golf Tournament in Dumas on Monday.
The Borger A team shot a 400, putting them 25 strokes behind Pampa who leads the tournament with a 375.
The Borger B team is currently in third place after posting a team score of 452.
Pampa’s Allison Alexander sits as the leader in the individual standings after shooting an 89.
Borger’s Clarice Myers is in fourth place overall after posting a 94.
The final round of the District 1-3A Golf Tournament will take place next Monday, April 9th in Dumas.

Borger vs Pampa games rescheduled

Due to much needed rain on Tuesday afternoon, the Pampa vs Borger baseball and softball games have been rescheduled for Wednesday.
The Pampa Harvesters vs Borger Bulldogs baseball game will start at 4:30 p.m. at Huber Park and the Pampa Lady Harvesters vs Borger Lady Bulldogs varsity softball game will begin at 4:30 p.m. at Agnes Howe Park.
The junior varsity softball game will be played after the varsity game at around 6:30 p.m.

Bulldogs dominate first round of District 1-3A tournament

After the first round of play in the District 1-3A Golf Tournament in Dumas, the Borger Boys Golf teams are dominating the field by sitting in first and second place.
The Borger A team took control of the tournamentby shooting a team score of 304 to take a 35 stroke lead after the first round of play.
Dylan Coffer led the Borger A team by shooting a 74, the top first round score of the tournament.
Billy Haynes and Tyler Sosebee are tied for second place with a 76, followed by Taylor Blewett in fourth place with a 78. Devin Witt shot an 85 to round out the Borger A team scores.

Brownwood ends Lady Bulldogs’ season, 4-0

WOLFORTH-On Monday afternoon, the Brownwood Lady Lions scored three goals in a 10-minute span, in the second half, to pull away for the 4-0 win over the Borger Lady Bulldogs in the 4A Area Round playoffs at Frenship High School.
Due to a strong wind from the south, each team enjoyed having an extra teammate in Mother Nature for a half of play. Unfortunately, the Lady Lions would be the team taking advantage of the wind, by scoring three goals and being able to keep the ball on one side of the field for the majority of the second half.
